LIVE PLANTS NEED LOVE RIGHT AWAY!
Your plant is coming off a wild journey, so it’s time to show it some TLC! The most important thing? Getting some oxygen to those roots. Here’s how to help your new plant buddy bounce back:
Open up your plant and check for any shipping damage
- If it’s pretty banged up (like, beyond repair), send us photos ASAP!
- If it looks good, keep going!
Make a hydrogen peroxide solution for those roots. (1 part hydrogen peroxide, 2 parts water)
Give your plant a 30-minute soak in a solution of in the bath. Relax, planty—it’s time to detox!
Prepare its new pot:
- Line the bottom with coarse medium (like bark or rock).
- Add a cup of perlite (helps with drainage).
- Fill the rest with 1-2" of chunky potting soil.
- Place your plant right in the center. If your plant has a cut node make sure the soil around it drains well to help prevent infection.
- Fill the rest of the pot with chunky soil.
- Leave about 1-2" at the top for that coarse medium (bark or rock).
Once planted, give it half a cup of hydrogen peroxide solution (the one you made earlier). Repeat in half an hour.
No watering for the next 24 hours—let it settle in!
After 24 hours, water with hydrogen peroxide solution until the top of the soil is dry again.
