Anthuriums are the tropical royalty of the plant world, known for their stunning foliage and diverse personalities! Native to rainforests, they love hanging out on tree branches, from the humid lowlands to the misty high-elevation cloud forests. These plants come in two main styles: the waxy-leaved varieties from the lower, damp areas and the velvety-leaved ones from the moisture-loving cloud forests. Some, like Anthurium ace of spades, can be a bit high-maintenance, making them perfect for advanced plant parents, while others, like Anthurium balaoanum, are more laid-back and great for intermediate plant lovers. They love bright, indirect light, well-aerated soil (think moss!), and consistent watering—just let the top inch of soil dry out between drinks. They also thrive in high humidity and appreciate regular feedings to keep them happy.
